So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 2 Corinthians 12:7

Envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossip, slander, hatred of God, insolence, boasting, disobedience to parents, foolishness, faithlessness, heartlessness, ruthlessness, covetousness; all of these (and many more) have the same root cause. I have been thinking a lot about this lately and will try to flesh (no pun intended) this out in the coming days.
